01

A Joint Laboratory for Quantum Bioinformatics,
a New Chapter for the Q4Life Industry

At the core of the partnership, the two parties will jointly establish a Quantum Bioinformatics Joint Laboratory. The laboratory will focus on common technical challenges at the intersection of quantum computing and life sciences, pursuing foundational technology research, quantum algorithm and tool development, and application validation in real-world scenarios, and will serve as a dedicated platform for long-term, cross-disciplinary research collaboration.

MatriQ will contribute the computing foundation, building on its neutral-atom quantum computers, quantum cloud platform and supporting algorithm development. BGI-Research will bring its multi-omics data resources, bioinformatics analysis capabilities and application scenarios to validate and deploy the results.

02

Quantum Computing × Life Sciences:
Starting from Real Applications and Needs

Addressing key computational scenarios and needs in the life sciences, the two teams have already held in-depth discussions on the first batch of collaborative projects. The initial focus is on applications such as genomics, exploring frontier directions including quantum optimization and quantum artificial intelligence, and studying hybrid approaches that combine quantum and classical computing. Working from concrete computational tasks, the teams will progressively develop quantum algorithms and tools tailored to practical application needs through algorithm design, experimental validation and performance evaluation.
