MatriQ Completes Nine-Figure Yuan Series A+ Financing, Building a Full-Chain Ecosystem from Full-System Deployment to Cloud Computing Power.
Recently, Hangzhou MatriQ Computing Co., Ltd. (“MatriQ”) announced the completion of a Series A+ round of several hundred million yuan. The round was joined by a group of well-known institutions including YF Capital, 37 Interactive Entertainment, Puhua Capital, Caitong Capital, SSEMC, Tang Xing Capital, Boray Capital, Vinno Capital and Haibang Investment, while existing shareholder Minyin International continued to increase its investment — a shareholder base spanning leading financial investors, industrial capital and state-owned capital. This convergence of capital with different profiles reflects multi-dimensional recognition of MatriQ’s technology route, system engineering capability, supply chain integration and commercialization prospects, and will give the company richer resources for future system iteration, industrial collaboration and large-scale delivery.

Four Rounds and Nearly RMB 1 Billion: The Reasoning Behind Sustained Capital Commitment
Since launching its first round in the second half of 2025, MatriQ has completed four rounds within a single year, raising close to RMB 1 billion in total and firmly holding its place in the first tier of the sector. That pace and scale send three clear signals.
First, the technology route has become a consensus. With physical advantages such as strong scalability, long coherence times, excellent full connectivity and no need for ultra-low-temperature environments, neutral atoms have in recent years been widely recognized by the industry as one of the general-purpose quantum computing routes with the greatest potential for scale. Globally, leading players such as QuEra and Pasqal continue to deliver on milestones, while MatriQ has established a leading position in China on this route with its 2,310-qubit defect-free array, zoning architecture and full-stack system delivery capability. On the capital side, shareholders’ view of the route has shifted across rounds from “worth watching” to “worth a major bet”.
Second, the engineering barrier is now clearly seen. The industrialization bottleneck of quantum computing lies not in physical principles but in systems engineering. MatriQ is one of the few teams in China with in-house capability across the entire chain — laser cooling, optical tweezer arrays, defect-free rearrangement, zoned loading and quantum error correction — and its full-stack integration and system delivery capabilities form a competitive depth that is hard to replicate. MatriQ has demonstrated in practice that a quantum computer is not a one-off laboratory demonstration device, but an engineering system that can be iterated, maintained and delivered to customers. This “productization” capability is a key dimension for judging the quality of a deep-tech investment target.
Third, commercialization has been validated. MatriQ’s full-stack integrated large-scale neutral-atom quantum computer has already received customer orders. At the same time, MatriQ is the only neutral-atom quantum computing company in China with the capability to deliver quantum computing systems at the kilo-qubit scale and above. At a time when the quantum computing industry is generally still at the stage of demonstrating capabilities, this leap from “can build” to “can sell” means the industry’s logic is shifting from technological imagination to delivery certainty.

Full-Stack Technology in Place: Phased Breakthroughs in the Neutral-Atom System
As a Chinese quantum computing company focused on the neutral-atom route, MatriQ has completed a full-stack technology layout from core components to complete systems, with R&D advancing at a steady pace. The company’s self-developed “full-stack integrated large-scale neutral-atom quantum computer” made its first offline public appearance at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026). The system integrates core modules — vacuum, optics, measurement and control, and thermal management — into a single unit, and is designed for long-term stable operation, full-lifecycle maintenance and iteration, and commercial on-site deployment.
To date, MatriQ can build and stably operate a defect-free array of up to 2,310 physical qubits. The system adopts a “memory–entanglement” zoning architecture: the memory zone maintains the coherence of the qubit array, the entanglement zone handles two-qubit gate operations, and movable optical tweezers schedule atom arrays across functional zones. This architecture effectively isolates the memory qubits from the entanglement operation area and reduces the errors introduced by off-target illumination and gate operations, while providing underlying architectural support for the implementation of future quantum error correction schemes.
From the 300-physical-qubit prototype V1 in 2024, to the 1,000-qubit defect-free array in 2025, and to surpassing 2,310 qubits in the first half of 2026, MatriQ’s R&D focus has gradually shifted from scaling the array to improving system stability, maintainability and operational consistency, steadily consolidating its engineering capability.
Full-Chain Layout: Opening the Critical Path from System Deployment to Cloud Computing Power
With the new funding in place, MatriQ will continue to invest along three core directions, steadily advancing technology development and commercial deployment in tandem.
On the hardware side, the company will continue to strengthen system engineering and to tackle logical qubits. It will keep investing in core hardware, optical engineering, measurement and control systems and automation tools, to further improve engineering performance in long-term operation, commissioning and maintenance, and on-site deployment, consolidating its advantage in deliverable systems. At the same time, building on the zoning architecture, it will steadily advance engineering validation of logical qubits and quantum error correction cycles, continuously improving gate fidelity, quantum state readout fidelity and long-term system stability. The company notes that quantum error correction still requires sustained experimental refinement and multiple rounds of iteration, and that progress will be verified through reproducible experimental results and clear, staged technical milestones.
On the cloud side, the company will begin planning and building the MatriQ computing power cloud platform as a core step in extending from hardware delivery to cloud services. The platform will provide unified access to MatriQ’s own QPUs, gradually opening entry points for both real quantum hardware and simulators, together with basic task scheduling, development environment support and organization-level quota management. At this stage the platform will focus on scientific research, algorithm development and early-stage scenario validation, lowering the barrier for external teams to work with neutral-atom quantum computers and creating a positive loop in which needs feed back into product iteration through real computing interactions.
On the talent side, the company will continue to build a cross-disciplinary talent pipeline, focusing on recruiting and developing specialists in atomic physics, optical engineering, precision manufacturing, electronic measurement and control, quantum algorithms and systems software, and further optimizing cross-domain collaboration mechanisms, so as to provide sustained talent support for hardware iteration, error correction and cloud services.
Exploration of diverse application scenarios for quantum computing power is also under way. At WAIC 2026, the Shanghai Cube Pro hybrid-training device, developed with MatriQ’s participation, was unveiled at the same time, marking a preliminary exploration of synergy between quantum and AI computing power. This work is still at an early stage and will be advanced in step with hardware upgrades, industrial partnership needs and experimental results.
Andy Xia, Founder of MatriQ, said: “General-purpose quantum computing is a long-cycle track that calls for long-termism. MatriQ has always been guided by engineering, productization and commercialization as we steadily pursue our core goal of building a practical quantum computer. In the next stage, we will continue to deepen our work on system engineering and quantum error correction, and at the same time pursue a dual path of offline system delivery and online cloud computing services, joining forces with research and industry partners to explore together. We insist on breaking our long-term vision down into solid execution steps, so that sustained investment in hardware, software and talent ultimately translates into tangible technological progress and industrial value.”
